PAF JETS BOMBING KILLS DOZENS OF MILITIANS IN FATA

The first incident occurred in the Orakzai Agency, one of the subdivisions of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan (FATA), in which nine militants were killed. The second incident occurred when tribal militants tried to attack Pakistani army installations in the Upper Dir District, located in the in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.
According to confirmed reports from the Pakistani Army, a total of nine insurgents were killed and several others seriously injured, when their hideouts were bombed by the Pak fighter jets in the Orakzai Agency. The Pakistan Air Force first bombed suspected rebel locations near the villages of Adokhel and Botakhel in the Mamozai region, while the Pak Army backed up the operation by undertaking a ground offensive against the rebels. The army further advanced to the Dogar and Ghiljo areas after the offensive and are currently consolidating their positions.
Meanwhile, suspected Afghan insurgents tried to attack a Pakistani military outpost in the district of Upper Dir, which lies along the Afghan border. Army officials said that the attack occurred at night-time and the soldiers successfully repulsed the offensive without suffering any casualties. They further informed that currently a military offensive is underway in the Bin Dara region of the district, in pursuit of the fleeing militants.
Militancy is a major problem in the FATA, and in some areas of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, but recently the Pak army has achieved a string of victories over the rebels. The army claimed that more than 92% of the territory in the Orakzai Agency has been cleared of the militants, and said that they are undertaking military offensives to clear whatever area remaining. Two weeks ago, close to 20 militants were killed in separate PAF strikes in the Orakzai and Khyber Agencies.
